Accessibility statement.

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We have not commissioned a formal third-party audit, so we describe this as a target we build against rather than a certification we hold. Saying otherwise would be exactly the sort of claim this site is built to avoid.

Every link on this site is a real anchor element pointing at a real URL. Every page is server-rendered HTML. The main menu opens and closes using a CSS-only mechanism, not a script.

The contact form posts to a normal server endpoint and redirects to a confirmation page, exactly as forms did before JavaScript existed. Turning scripts off costs you two conveniences — the full-screen quote dialog and the live field validation — and nothing else.

Everything interactive is reachable with Tab and operable with Enter or Space. A visible focus ring is applied throughout, and it is not suppressed anywhere.

A Skip to content link is the first focusable element on every page. The main menu can be opened from the keyboard, closed with Escape, and the full-screen quote dialog traps focus while open and returns it to the trigger when closed.

Pages use a single H1 followed by a logical heading outline. Landmarks are marked up with real header, nav, main and footer elements. Form fields have associated labels, hints are linked with aria-describedby, and validation errors are announced through an alert region and linked from a summary at the top of the form.

The isometric pallet drawings carry descriptive alternative text stating dimensions, deck board count and stringer count. Purely decorative elements are hidden from assistive technology.

Body text is a very dark green on warm paper, which measures well above the 4.5:1 minimum. Interface elements meet 3:1. Colour is never the only means of conveying information — form errors carry text, an icon change and a border, not just a red outline.

Animations on this site are subtle by design: elements fade and rise slightly as they enter the viewport, and a marquee scrolls in one place. All of it is disabled automatically when your operating system reports a prefers-reduced-motion setting. Nothing flashes, and nothing moves faster than three times per second.

Text scales to 200% without loss of content or function. Layouts reflow to a single column at narrow widths, and no page scrolls horizontally — wide tables scroll inside their own container rather than pushing the page sideways.

The size explorer and the Reclaim Index are interactive controls that are keyboard-operable but would benefit from richer live-region announcements as values change. This is on our list.

Some data tables are wide. They scroll horizontally inside a container, which is correct behaviour, but a very wide table read linearly by a screen reader is still hard work. Where possible we have kept the important comparison in the first two columns.

We have not tested with every combination of assistive technology and browser. If something does not work for you, that is a defect and we want to hear about it.
